Basically everyone knew this, apart from US war mongers of course.

Thank god!

I had a conversation with one of these kiddie porn paddlers on Twitter. They bought Twitter ads to advertise their Steam-sold child porn game where not only were their underage girls, but you took pictures of them in change rooms without consent and so on. I said something to the effect of "how can you sleep at night selling clear images of child sexual abuse" and their reply was literally "it sells".

Reporting it to Twitter went nowhere and I continued to see ads for the game for some time. Thanks ad algorithm.

While it annoys me that Activision, EA and Ubisoft all have their own stores instead of using the neutral Steam store, I totally understand that few would want their games on such a pedophilic cess pool. I'm sure revenue sharing is the bigger cause, but god damn. Make a fucking Half Life game instead of being a host for interactive child molestation. Fuck.

As discussed elsewhere, both companies enjoy large tax breaks that give them huge advantages. However, I think only Amazon sells so many items online without sales taxes across the US.

Apple still makes a good deal more revenue.

For quite some time, Amazon made almost no profit and just spent everything they earned. I believe they recently started taking in more profit, and this has probably excited the stock price a lot.

Amazon also seems to do things Apple isn't willing to. Amazon hosts the NSA's data, while Apple fights for privacy. Amazon has notoriously poor working conditions and unethical sources, while Apple leads in creating an ethical supply chain, using green energy and making recyclable products.

Apple's strategy means they're virtually the only ones who can sell phones, tablets and computers for a decent profit margin. Amazon's strategy shows they're willing to be cut throat. Both are attractive to traders in about equal measure, it seems.

Thanks, this is a very good summary and considers all factors.

Of course this seems to "unite" folks under a neoliberal, capitalist status quo and doesn't represent anything very Marxist, which is about uniting workers.

> Remote workers can’t participate

Maybe not the correct headline at least, they mean folks in other time zones. But a little sleep hacking fixes this, for me.

> Channels rapidly devolve into GIF posts

Sometimes I wish they would. I've found recent Slack orgs I'm in to be dead. And you try start a topic and no one replies for hours or days, and I sometimes delete posts out of embarrassment that I said something wrong or just boring.

Last I looked at Zulip they were using the web-app in a "native" wrapper approach to desktop clients. I wish them the best, but wish just _one_ enterprise chat competitor would take a different approach. I know the appeal and I'm a JS developer myself, but even if you have to make a Mac-only solution, there is a market for that cause nearly every small-to-medium office seems to be all Mac.

Hi,

Strictly applied, I've followed a "ketogenic" diet by definition. My body operated on ketones for prolonged periods over about a year.

This came from intermittent fasting. This did not come from a strong meat-based diet with high fat. I believe those are very bad ideas.

The process was roughly Mon to Wed/Thu/Fri with no food whatsoever. I used keto-sticks to ensure my body switched to ketones as fuel.

Each day I stepped on the scale, I lost 2/3 - 1 whole KG a day. It was amazing.

Psychologically, there was a sort of buzz that I felt enhanced focus and was pleasurable. I was also amused at how I conquered hunger. It stopped ruling my life and I decided when to each and how much.

Physically, I did not feel like I could climb a mountain or anything. I felt light and floaty, but also slow and somewhat weak. This was not necessarily a bad thing at all. I did _not_ feel heavy and sluggish or lethargic, but rather capable of focus and walking around, just perhaps slower, but more comfortable.

Heads up: the first 3-day session was very hard. Headaches were an issue. From there it became easier. Then second nature.

I lost 20+ kilos over the year, but most of that was during the 3+ day fasts. I took many weeks off throughout the year and easily switched from normal eating to fasting throughout.

I have also tried meat/fat based keto diets and I think they are bad. They did not work for me in any way, and I have red of people damaging themselves from this harmful diet fad. I tried many other diets as well, but fasting was all that worked.

Some of the weight was regained, but I still fit into the clothes I bought at the target weight I reached through this method. I happen to believe this diet is perfectly natural and even medically beneficial.

Great point. Keto means running off of ketones. It does not mean eating meat. It also has little to do with how much fat you eat (Although many keto people, including myself, believe in eating fat to satiety)

When you're ketogenic your body is burning fat for fuel. There's a switchover period from being a sugar-burner to being a fat-burner (Even though we do it naturally every night when we sleep) This can be uncomfortable for some.

Looks sick.

Ew.
