Slow but necessary

My interest in HN has decreased since it feels every other news is about AI

However I'll use the other links provided here, as it takes 10s to display

HN reflects what their users (or people trying to influence them) post most. A few years ago it was flooded with crypto, a few years later it will be flooded with something else.

Actually, it always actively suppressed content owners found repetitive or annoying. Openly so, the moderator would even state it is being done. It is simply part of moderation.

And then there is flagging where certain content grts flagged much faster then other.

something that makes this website different from the others, is it lets you filter by _any_ combination of topics, and allows you to edit them live and in real time.

see (view on desktop)

for a more detailed example

thanks for the your thoughts, and i will also keep working on making it faster.

I like AI and AI news, but can't stand the endless Anslopic Claude ads.

All this site ever talks about is Claude. It's so annoying. We'd use it if it was good (it's not).

As i write this, an article about Claude is 6th from the top on the linked site.

this website reduces the priority of content, rather than filter it entirely, so some articles with high score will still appear, but lower down than they otherwise would.

This is configurable though, so you can make it whatever you want.

see below for a complete demo (view on desktop): https://sprinklz.io/demo/hackerNews

as well as another example I've exported from above with stronger penalty: https://sprinklz.io/public/5vsn97zcgxex

Darnet Diaries'episode about the legendary phrack

https://darknetdiaries.com/episode/170/

he's talking about blindy executing a bash script with curl curl install.sh | bash which is indeed a very bad habit

does not mean he should talk that way about people who have less knownledge

That's not one of my pronouns you jerk.

sorry i don't identify as a jerk

it's also 150 000 000 meters

I stop reading when the first paragraph contains a profanity.

same

Thank you for that precision "without continued propulsion", because when talking about rockets, physics teachers always talk about escape velocity, as if it was an absolutely necessary condition to escape earth's gravity.

But can't you escape gravity slower, just by going higher and higher at lower speed? Like a plane? (ie not vertically, but at an angle)

If you don't accelerate, my understanding is that you will slow down. In other words, it takes more and more energy to escape orbit. Eventually, if you don't accelerate, your speed drops to zero and you "fall back down". Escape velocity is about how much energy you put into your motion, not the velocity as such.

No, the absolute minimum speed IS required. Anything below that and you’re just making your orbit elliptical.

That seems wrong. If you have a way to maintain enough propulsion for long enough you can escape the gravity well at any arbitrarily low speed. You "just" need to maintain that speed long enough for the escape velocity from the gravity well to go below it as it diminishes with distance from the mass.

Oh yeah, 1.01 Gs of endless propulsion will work. I was just arguing in the context of existing technology.

As someone working in clinical studies,

I can tell you the questions are biased from the start. That study has to be redone entirely.

would you have a tutorial on that?

Sorry, I don't. Giving the agent high level context has worked well for me.
