>"It looks like the IT security world has hit a new low," Torvalds begins. "If you work in security, and think you have some morals, I think you might want to add the tag-line: "No, really, I'm not a whore. Pinky promise" to your business card. Because I thought the whole industry was corrupt before, but it's getting ridiculous," he continues. "At what point will security people admit they have an attention-whoring problem?"
Sweden is relatively good at creating innovative companies but is pretty friendly towards small companies especially.
Europe does lag behind though for many different reasons. One big is that the single market of EU is on paper large but in practice it is a lot of different countries with very different cultures and languages.

This is the biggest one. The single market is not really "done", and all attempts to deepen it face enormous resistance by national electorates that is now at the point to vote against anything that comes out of the EU.
For example, in order to sell a product in the Netherlands you have to have a sticker in Dutch, even though >90% of population understands English. That's a tiny thing, but makes a supply chain that much more complex.
For digital services it's even worse, the laws still differ significantly per country. Where I work we want to expand, but we still have to do it per country...
I think that is the accomplishment. It progressed from not being able to give an answer because it did not have the direct knowledge to being able to make a guess based on a pattern of naming of others in the family and a clue.
Could absolutely be that. Or it is so smart that it realizes that the author believes they have given enough information and that it should not have to land on a low chance guess. So that pattern is the only one that make sense in that case.
What the author provided is not necessarily the same as what the software forwarded to the model, especially if some sort of "recall" feature is being used.
The way to make their replacements even better over time is to discourage use of plastic. So this seems like a pretty good policy, even if there is a tiny bit of (the world’s most minor amount of) pain during the transition. We should ban more single-use plastic.
I just buy a bunch of these biodegradable PLA straws instead. They work well https://amzn.eu/d/dKIyKxE.
Not missed the old plastic straws apart from when at a burger joint that gives you the useless paper ones. The bagasse and PLA straws do not disintegrate as quickly and work as well as the old ones.
Whether they are actually more environmentally friendly is another discussion.
It is the worlds most powerful economy and not military that has its benefits. The US can dictate global rules because the cost of being shut out of the US economy is too large and not because the US would invade Switzerland if they don't play ball.
I support them in their fight against how you guys pronounce certain things compared to how it is spelled. I'm not from the US though but Worcestershire sauce....come on.
That's fine, but that means I reserve the right to go to Detroit and insist it's pronounced "de-twa" and tell the locals they say it wrong because it has a french origin :)
