Encyclopedias are not warped to fit a minority groups opinion like Wikipedia is. Wikipedia is a website, not a trusted source. Not sure when Wikipedia became something more than a crowdsourced opinion site.

That's just one feature.

How are the sales, teachers, etc getting around the fact that you have to use an external Bluetooth speaker when utilizing an external monitor. Teachers and sales typically have to give lectures and presentations.

> I think the risks of lying in a hospital, strapped to a ventilator

Being managed by medical professionals with no experience or training on said ventilator or enough personnel to accurate monitor the ventilators or even put the right people who actually need a ventilator and not just everyone that walked in the door.

Yes, hospitals were woefully unprepared in many cases, and there certainly were errors in proper care. That doesn't mean though that all or even most uses of ventilators were wrong.

Because fentanyl is way cheaper by itself. Why mix in more expensive drugs? The issue is China, full stop.

Exactly, fentanyl is now cheaper than most other drugs and opiods. So many opioid users have just switched to fentanyl. Why pay extra for heroin? The issue is also the cartel in mexico, fentanyl is produced there too.

I agree. Blows my mind that I was downvoted so hard on my factual comment. But it is HN.

> Ban people from working if they don't take it, maybe take away any benefits too. Don't allow them to public places?

Over a one's own choice to not have a medical procedure?

Should we do the same to those whom have abortions?

Who gets to make a choice on what medical procedures a population should have? Why is it not the individuals decision?

I was a happy customer of T-Mobile for around 10 years. Until I moved out into the county and was forced to switch. It seems like temblor has gone down hill since acquiring sprint. But this isn't the first time something like this has happened at T-Mobile. Seems as if they have a 2-3 year cadence of data incidents.

It starts to look like these are not breaches but instead could be sales of customer account info by insiders that are then reported as breaches by external bad actors.

This is far too regular an occurrence for T-Mobile. I have never been a customer of theirs and so far as I know my info has never leaked from my cell provider. Unfortunately I was caught up in more than one other major data breach over the last 10 years so it is all out there but still, when one company has this many similar breaches it starts to look like planned events.

This. I was a TMo customer from when they were Voicestream until about five years ago, then again 3 years ago. Had to switch to VZW so the college kids got signal. This is what, the third or fourth time they've had a data breach? We will not be going back. Ever.

> The purpose of that committee is to be a factory for clips to show on Fox News and Newsmax. I appreciate your optimism but it's unwarranted.

The democrats got their clips for CNN, MSNBC, WP, etc with their sham of an investigation complete with a Hollywood director.

Now that there's over 14,000 hours of footage being released we'll have even more clips.

Democrats and Republicans can both suck. Pointing to Dems when Repubs are assholes doesn’t make Repubs any better. Being partisan doesn’t always mean a good thing.

I'm not arguing one is better than another. Just pointing out that there has been an ongoing investigation that was publicized and directed by a Hollywood director to drum up clips, news stories and support from their supporters and to pain their enemies in bad light.

Now that the pendulum has swing the other way the other side will get their chance to blow through millions and create their own circus for their supporters.

It's kinda amazing how they don't realize that the power they seize can and will be wielded by their enemy with absolutely no remorse.

This is false equivalence and irrelevant bothsideism.

Whataboutism, bothsideism. Same thing?

So which is easier? Law Enforcement going after Google for the data or LE going after the site itself for the data on customers?

Seems like it would be easier for LE to threaten a small pharmacy versus a big corp like google.

It's worth thinking about, but it's hard to say. Perhaps Google would voluntarily turn over the info without a search warrant, and/or would do it quietly without telling the customer even if not required by law to keep it quiet -- but the small pharmacy with the relationship with its customers would not. Perhaps law enforcement already has a relationship with google and established channels for accessing this info, whether with or without a court order.

> Perhaps Google would voluntarily turn over the info without a search warrant

Not in general in this scenario. Google has made exceptions in the past (generally around an emergency with threat to life involved), but they're reluctant to make such exceptions for even federal LEO. State-level LEO, which is who would be making these requests, has far less leverage over Google; they could make it harder for Google to do business in their state, but (a) the states we're talking about are doing that already, so Google cares less about a lever that's already being pulled and (b) the states don't have higher authority to appeal to (what are they gonna do, try to make a Supreme Court case out of noncompliance with... A warrantless data request?).

Ironically, you could just Google this, instead of speculating wildly?

They review, question, narrow, and reject requests for user info. They also notify users unless prevented by a court.

Google's stalking can also deanonymize a user even if they used fake details and an anonymous payment method on the website.

I disagree with your framing. It costs resources to target specific companies even small ones. Google has ALL the data on ALL the pharmacies. You get it from them and just not bother with each individual company
