looks like all the other resolution started to decrease so probably its the same devices but hiding the resolution. maybe some privacy feature for some Asian countries was introduced back then?

I'm getting authentication failed after following the magic link

How did you start/grow the newsletter?

Also discovered BAR couple of weeks ago and even though I'm not really a gamer anymore, and was never really into rts games, I've already have > 50 in game hours

I was very impressed with the level of detail and meticulous implementation. The level of control and posible automation is high, I feel that it should reasonate with most tech oriented ppl

If anyone wants to play my in game username is [ZWD]_jaan, just add me as a friend and I can intro you to the basic concepts (im still a noob tho), we can play a coop game or find a noob lobby :)

Have you tried Llms for translation? Much, much cheaper, and in my experience as good as deepl

I've spoken to natively multilingual friends and they weren't very positive about LLMs, particularly with French. That was GPT-3.5 though, so it might have improved. Certainly worth looking into.

The other issue is latency, which DeepL is pretty good at.

Free version of duolingo's match madness using top 1000 most frequently used Spanish words. I actually like the competing with others gamification, not so much streaks etc. Made it mostly for myself, as a way to procrastinate instead of actually learning spanish

This looks so great! Do you have any plans to expand to other languages? I'd love something like this for Swedish.

TBH not really, although it would be really easy. I'd open source it if the code would not be an absolute mess

If you do want to open source it someday I'd be happy to help clean up the code in my spare time. I'm actively learning Swedish and would selfishly love something like this :D

Wow I love this explanation. Are there any resources that explain LLMs in such accesible and easy to understand way?

3Blue1Brown has a fantastic video on GPT that I'd highly recommend called "But what is a GPT? Visual intro to transformers" [1]. You'll need to have some background in mathematical reasoning, but not too much. He does a great job of drawing pictures to show the mathematical transformations that happen under the hood.

There are videos on youtube where you can see how the token generation happens like an algorithm

The process itself is quite simple. I think everybody is surprised how well it works because it's the power of statistics + great data

Unfortunately, it can't reason at all and would need other AI fields in order to be able to tackle some other simple puzzles

I'm not too sure. When I first encountered LLMs, I decided to try implementing one from scratch. I didn't get far, because it's difficult, and I only have finite time and energy. Still, it was the process of trying to implement some basic stuff that gave me an idea of how they work under the hood.

aren't you a founder of one? :)

what is the real goal of this post? gauge the market? somehow funnel to your thing? (honestly curious)

//edit I see you already used another account to answer yourself with recommendation of your product

IDK if the solopreneur thing has intensified so much recently, but almost every time I see a thread like that, here or on reddit, it's posted by the creator of the tool and he somehow tries to sneak his product in

for anyone browsing for a starter kit I recommend laravel with a starter kit and laravel stripe package: https://laravel.com/docs/10.x/starter-kits + https://laravel.com/docs/10.x/billing

Hey there.

First of all, this is the only account I own, the other replies are from people I don't know >.<

Second of all, I was asking to see what the community suggests in terms of SaaS Starter Kit, monitor the market, and discover new interesting things that I currently don't know.

I wonder why people always see the rot even where there is none.

This works only for drm-free ebooks and audiobooks?

That's correct; it requires the ability to analyze the actual contents of the ebook and audiobook, so they can't be locked down with DRM. This is unfortunately pretty limiting, but at least for audiobooks, online stores like libro.fm have pretty massive catalogues of DRM-free audiobooks!

That's what the docs say, yes

I've built a cli tool to insert translations into an ebook file, converting a standard ebook into a bilingual ebook. I wanted to learn Spanish, and all other learning methods were too boring.

I've made a lot of progress with my Spanish this way (it's fun), so I started to build a language learning app based on the idea, but then decided I do not want to build language learning app, so instead I just added a web UI layer over the tool:

https://bilingualebooks.net

I've just finished it. If you want to use it, note that only DRM-free epub ebooks are supported. Since it's tough to find DRM-free ebooks, especially in foreign languages, I've included a section in the FAQ on where to find them.
