It doesn't. Space is significant here, and if '-' is a the front of the matching character class it matches literal '-'. Your regex '[- ~]' matches either '-' or ' ' or '~'.

Excellent article but it still doesn't explain apparent "hatred" towards N9 and everything related to it. You cannot find it on Nokia support pages, for example. On the products list it's always on the third or fourth page after a lot of old Symbian phones (I'm browsing localised version for my country). It's like they're (current Nokia management) somewhat ashamed of it.

Well, they probably are. They spent 6 months badmouthing the entire Maemo/Meego operation, heralding the Microsoft deal with much fanfare, and then it turned out the N9 was a peach after all, with a possibly better UI than the much-celebrated Windows Phone. If the N9 had sold too well, they would have looked like idiots.

Not that they look much different now...

Why don't Carpathia just backup the data? I know it's a lot of work and data, but burning 10.000 blurays (or other backup media) probably costs fairly less than 9.000$ per day.

There's nothing 'just' about backuping 25 petabytes of data. Even taking the ridiculous idea of burning it on blu-rays/dvds, for which I don't even want to think about manpower and hardware costs (do you expect their servers to have bluray burners?), the raw disks would cost, at say 50 pence per 25GB disk, 500k, and burning the 1000000 disks using 100 blu-ray equipped servers would take ~500 hours. All the while someone has to shuffle the disks every half an hour.

Oh, and then you have to store them somewhere.

Even tape storage would be extremely expensive for this, which is why Carpathia is asking for assistance.

Obviously, it has - for the male participants of IRC chat which found bot "jokes" funny. They have a social bondage now. That's how I saw it.

Croatia also. Bunch of dimwits.
