I had a similar idea once, only with people - the theory was that each person is the reincarnation of the same one. So anything you do to someone else, you basically do to your future or past self.

Edit: just noticed the link from amvp, guess that's the same. I have to read that story, thanks.

That seems to be the buddhists premise.

None of the buddhist traditions that I know of states that every (human) being is the incarnation of the same 'person'. Also, this would contradict with the scriptures, which describe many enlightened beings (who ended their cycle of rebirth).

On a more abstract level, reality could be seen this manner in Buddhism. Buddhism teaches the doctrine of dependent arising, which states that all phenomena are interdependent. As such there is no distinct/independent self or other.

wow, I didn't know they do that. In Czech republic this functionality works all the time, I wonder why they behave differently in these two countries.

oh no, it's only this one bank. online banking with other banks (haven't tried them all - 3 accounts is enough cough) works as expected.

it's only ironic because mbank is an internet only bank :)

Rudepeklo meant that mbank in Czech republic accepts transfer orders 24/7. I can confirm, the interbank orders will wait till the interbank reconciliation center opens, but internal transfers will be made immediately.

What's more interesting, mbank uses the same backend for pl, cz and sk. I know that it works in cz and sk exactly the way it is supposed to do. Why is pl exception?

It's written in the article:

"The father of the Clock is Danny Hillis. He's been thinking about and working on the Clock since 1989."

I agree with the tipping problem, I myself try to tip based on the total value and not what I pay (because that may be just for a few drinks). I don't want the waiters to suffer for the business owners discounts :)

Here in Czech republic we have local variants of Groupon and in some restaurants people reported the despise from waiters too. Surprisingly, this did not happen when we went to one that was otherwise really expensive - the people there were very nice and friendly. We won't return there regularly because it's out of our price range but for special occasions I would like to go back.

Regarding the quality - from my experience it's about 50/50, some restaurants are bad, some are ok so maybe contactdick was unlucky in encountering the wors first.

It's good to hear you'll go back to the nice restaurant. For some reason I can't get over the mindset that if I return I'm no longer getting the discount so it's way too expensive.

I don't give it much chances here, but what the hell:

One of them is my home city, Hradec Kralove. It's a very nice walk, makes one to realize the vast distances in space. The Swedish one is much cooler though :)

I live in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic

I don't need to pay rent (lucky me :)), so I'll summarize my expenses when I did:

- monthly rent: $300 (small flat in the middle of the city)

- electricity, heating, Internet: $100

- food: about $200 (you could easily live on $100 to $150 dollars if you wanted to save)

- public transportation: about $110 (I don't have a car and I had to commute by train)

Typical wages for programmers in Hradec are $1000 to $1500 but can go higher if you are self employed. The nearer you are to Prague, the higher go the wages (and expenses, but I guess the wages climb faster)

If you will not buy the game because of the DRM, don't play it. Otherwise the DRM is only an excuse for piracy. I tend to agree with houseabsolute here.
