Sadly as the author stated, it may not matter. But even Tim Cook is giving a million to Trump’s fund. The President is going to the highest bidder, but who cares because big tech will profit right?

> But even Tim Cook is giving a million to Trump’s fund.

I think you mean "Tim Apple".

>Kamala Harris outraised Trump 5-1

That is not true. Harris raised $1.39 billion and Trump raised $1.09 billion.

Harris raised $1.1B hard money and benefited from $843M declared outside spend.

Trump raised $463M hard money and benefited from $975M declared outside spend.

Numbers per OpenSecrets.org

Harris is not in a position of power.

The standard given is "The President is going to the highest bidder", Harris not being in power therefore refutes the point.

Trump was literally a rando private citizen. Harris was VP. She was in a position of power.

Trump is rando private citizen as much Obama is rando private citizen :)

Trump was not a "rando private citizen." He was a former President, a celebrity and a billionaire. Trump was far, far more well known than Harris, and arguably more connected to political power.

VP is not a powerful position. It's well known for being almost entirely pointless, unless the President dies.

Teddy Roosevelt’s opponents within the Republican party orchestrated his selection as vice president specifically to get him out of the way because they didn’t like what he was doing as governor of New York and figured that was a safe place to dump him. Then President McKinley was assassinated a few months later.

To me the difference there seems to be an incredible amount of large pools of money and billionaires publicly committing 100s of millions of dollar each to PACs, totally billions and billions, that clearly 100 percent exist to get Trump elected, but of course no PAC would ever think about aligning their activities with the Trump campaign because that would be against the law.

But Harris did raise a billion dollars, it is true.

Only if you don't include Elon dumping hundreds of millions into the campaign.

And I am sure there is a lot more where that came from in terms of "contributions" from Russia and China in terms of disinformation.

Irrelevant. Harris still outraised funds than Trump

lol @ 5-1 :)

Whutaboutism much?

How is it whataboutism when you claim a election was bought, when the loser out raised and outspent the winner?

Sold! To the lowest bidder…

That ship has sailed given how Harris and other 83+ billionaires (including several other tech CEOs) raised more than $1BN for her campaign more than Trump (and she still lost).

I know some cars have the blinking when you are applying sudden pressure to the brakes. To alert people behind them they may be stopping quickly. People use their hazards in some states for the same reason.

You’ve nailed it. I miss my Audi with headlights that moved when I turned the wheel. That alone would fix a lot of the issues of being blinded when coming around a curve. A lot of US pickup trucks just have lights across the whole front end, and if you drive a car it’s just illuminating the whole inside of your car and every mirror.

Just tried to check it out. First boot it crashed, killed app and tried again and now it won’t open. I’ll try and reinstall and do over. iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18.1

Quick edit- I did exactly that and now it works fine. First boot up before seemed like it got stuck when asking for permission to use the camera.

Glad it worked on second boot! We used to have some bugs in the elliptic integral implementation that led to the app crashing, but we think we've eliminated those, so hopefully this is just a fluke... Anyone else with this issue?

I’m with you, then again Best Practices mean best for your work environment, not all. I’m currently making sure to cultivate an environment where my staff are comfortable sharing information openly. Not all of my people are comfortable announcing things to the group and want to bounce things off me or other supervisors. Sometimes you have to meet people where they are at. Like establishing the vision and just keep making sure you’re moving towards it.

It’s definitely not e-ink, it’s a type of LCD. Been reading about it and it seems like users are pretty hyped about it. I don’t really need another tablet, I want a really good writing experience. I’m test driving the Boox Go 10.3 but I may return it and wait for the new Supernote offering. Or I’ve been reading up on de-bloating the Boox software if I keep it.

I like using FancyZones which is in the Microsoft PowerToys suite. That way you can snap things to a 1080p resolution part of your ultrawide screen. My other simple option is just open the laptop screen which is 1080p

No issue here, I don’t find that I go back too far anyway on their podcast. Currently have a subscription so also doesn’t impact me. I’ve always wondered if these podcasts ever make that much money, I for one never click on ads on websites nor would I hear an ad during a podcast and look into that product.

I really don’t want to watch ad riddled reviews on YouTube. I always went to their site to read an actual article that goes into depth about tech and gave great reviews. Truly a sad day for the internet.

When the site finally worked it was nice to learn of the super note. Never heard of it before and I’m curious when the next iteration of their 10” version comes out. Seems like a good note taking first and e reader second. Which is what I’m looking for, already enjoy my smaller kobo for reading only.

The site speaks to that: https://ewritable.com/when-will-the-ratta-supernote-a5-x2-be... . In brief, Ratta is open on Reddit, but I don't think anyone has much faith that they'll meet their latest estimate, so we're all just guessing.
