Is it possible to run on macOS? I’m guessing docker

What is Twitter?

the enduring result of the stupidest brand name change ever

“ By and large, we’re fat, lazy, poorly educated, and blind to the state of things. It’s embarrassing.”

100% wrong. Didn’t even bother reading after that

OP's shining example of Mexico is essentially as obese[0], and far less educated[1] than Americans on average. It's embarrassing to be this blind to the state of things when you have the resources to check your opinions for accuracy.

Well, the "fat" part is true, the US is #2 in obesity among developed countries. In many education metrics we are average or below average compared to the OECD countries (despite spending more than others) - let's round it out to "average". The others are less measurable.

The author is beaming about Mexico where the obesity rate is on par with the US.

The US rank 9th in terms of tertiary education in the world, so no, not "average'. And even average wouldn't translate to "uneducated".

tertiary education is just one metric. And yes Mexico is #1 obesity but that doesn't mean that the US being #2 is good. We are horribly overweight compared to Europe and Asia.

What are the other metrics? What metrics did you use to make your statement?

Dude, don't play the "moving the goal posts" game please, this is not X/Twitter. The guy is creaming his pants over Mexico and he calls Americans fat.

I think exposure (or multiple) to SARS-CoV-2 should be taken under consideration when talking about all of this..

Awesome but can’t get the sound to work ?

Saying someone else doesn’t have character and integrity is generally a good indicator of your own self.

"Empathy" is a pre-requisite for nearly all the traits we'd regard as "character and integrity," and Elon has vocally and specifically spoken out against the concept of empathy itself. Then he has behaved as if he had a total lack of empathy as well. He's achieved some great things, but all of them can be explained by low-character/low-integrity traits like greed and narcissism. Not one thing I've ever heard of him doing invokes an explanation of, and therefore produces evidence of, character and integrity.

No he hasn't he has warned against empathy that leads to harm (i.e. suicidal empathy). Over empathy is a bad character trait, it leads to being used/manipulated/weakness.

Harm: More brown people walking around the US

Not-harm: Hundreds of thousands of [mostly black/brown] children dying of preventable causes

Wait a minute... I'm seeing a pattern!

Harm: illegal immigrant raping and murdering innocents citizens

Not Harm: Billions being wasted on woke left wing propaganda abroad while local communities starved of funds

First, this makes literally no sense, silly guy! Both of these things are bad things! The format is supposed to be inversion.

Second, you are definitely not a native-born American, are you? Are you a citizen at all? Do you even live in America?

Please share how long you’ve lived here in the US that you feel qualified to comment on the affairs of my country. Otherwise I’ll have to assume you’re the kind of very smart person who gets their cultural analysis from x dot com, sitting a continent away, and I’ll unfortunately have to just point and laugh.

No I live in the U.K. so I am fit to judge a former colony on its short progress.

Recent immigrant to the UK? Why can't you write English like a native speaker? Must be one of those conservative immigrants that thinks they're "different" from the other ones, and just praying that your political bedfellows will agree when push comes to shove (they won't).

In any case, no, that doesn't qualify you to speak on US affairs. Being well-informed and legitimately curious could qualify you, but you've made no claim and no evidence of those, have you?

This is a web forum, I don't put effort into writing perfect grammatically correct English prose. Im white and European and not an immigrant in any respect. My point is unchecked affective empathy (raw emotional sharing) without cognitive checks can distort judgment and cause widespread damage, even when intentions are "good.", see Neville Chamberlain for an example. This is why when left wing soft minded people like yourself are in power we end up with horrors before long.

Eating peanut butter without cognitive checks can distort judgment. You can put literally anything preceding "without cognitive checks" and the answer will be "it distorts judgment."

No one is arguing for unchecked empathy, silly.

I don't get manipulated or becoming weak just because I have empathy.

And the way Elon Musk acts, its very well in his line to be just a massive dick about everything.

of course you have to grow as a human being to have empathy and still not act on it, but it gives you a different mental model.

I don't see a homeless person as garbage, i see a homeless person as a human being who struggles and i accept that i can't help everyone.

It's actually empirically easy to manipulate people like Musk and other vice-signaling losers.

Just stroke their fragile little ego and tell them they're big bad boys if they do X Y Z.

I trust them on a daily basis. No issues thus far..

Driving dynamics. Not everything is acceleration..

What’s wrong with their demographics? Population decline?

It has been called the 4-2-1 problem. 4 people had 2 kids. Those 2 kids had 1 of their own. This means there ends up with a more elderly people with far fewer young to support them. That doesn't look like a recipe for social stability. This is why they are going in so hard on automation nowadays, they are trying to do what Japan attempted in the 90s/2000s but hopefully with more success.

This was originally a side effect of the One child policy, but now it is continued due to difficult living situations. This is not a uniquely China issue.
