First thing I thought of too. Mixed cases when all the directory names are single words seems completely unecessary.



End users are used to mixed-case system directory names.

  C:\Windows\System32

  C:\Users\bob\Downloads


You're using Windows examples. Directory names are case insensitive on Windows. On Linux system directories and command names have always been lowercase only for good reason.

Why should I have to memorize the fact that the folder for the package sudo starts with a capital S but the command sudo doesn't. It's not like the capital S carries any information, and as others have pointed out, it's ugly.
