Ask HN: Best IDE for web/JavaScript, node dev

I've been using a simple editor (syntax high-lighting only) and the command line for ages. What do y'all recommend as a fully-featured alternative instead?

I recommend having a look at WebStorm as well. I’ve been using it or IDEA Ultimate (which also includes it) for last 5 years at least if not more.

While it has some bugs and rough edges its capabilities are still quite impressive.

Webstorm / intellij is amazing for productivity.

IDE: VSCode

Plugins: ESLint, GitLens, Prettier, Apollo GraphQL, Github Copilot, AutoImport, ES7/React/TypeScript Code Snippets.

VSCode with Plugins get the job done.

PhpStorm/Webstorm.

If you're looking for something free. Netbeans does the jobs for PHP.

I use VsCode with Github Copilot and a Vim plug-in.

I enjoy VS Code.

webstorm

I'll take a look. Actually what prompted this Ask is that I have recently helped someone with a javafx project and she was using webstorm's ide.

It's IntelliJ for Java.

I will swear by the following Jetbrains products: IntelliJ, PyCharm, and Webstorm. I am not a fan of DataGrip and never really got into CLion (I wind up using the Arduino tools or Microchip Studio)
