The syntactic sugar for the list of tuples (aka the Keyword list), such as: [one: 1, two: 2] instead of [{:one, 1}, {:two, 2}] and the other ... do: macros drove me crazy when I first learned Elixir. But as soon as I familiarized myself with it and a few other gotchas, Elixir managed to become my favorite and main language.
