Yggdrasil allows for the generation of type secure stand-alone native language programs from Shen source programs. We are pleased to announce the release of Yggdrasil 1.0 which has a plug-in configured for Common Lisp. Yggdrasil requires Shen 34.6 which is now available from https://shenlanguage.org/download.html. Questions to https://groups.google.com/g/qilang.

More details on Yggdrasil can be found at https://shenlanguage.org/yggdrasil.html.

Not to be confused with the Julia binary building platform of the same name (https://github.com/JuliaPackaging/Yggdrasil)

for me it's the meshnet thing https://yggdrasil-network.github.io/

> Shen incorporates the features of a modern functional programming language,

Like higher-kinded types, typeclasses, implicits, first-class modules?

dang, could you perhaps insert "[Shen]" in the title?

I've taken a crack at coherently putting Shen up there but if someone has a better idea, let me know.

Thanks, I emailed him.

You might want to reconsider your name:

Also https://yggdrasil-network.github.io — but tbf both the linux distro, as well as the overlay network are niches. Pretty sure there are much more well known projects with the same name.

What surprised me was that Yggdrasil Linux is apparently still alive, though there's been little Github activity and none since April 2022:

Still, the name is fairly likely to cause confusion.

Also it kind of sounds like a birth control drug to me. Side effects may include nausea, vomiting, insurrection, and trouble pronouncing things.

Vaguely, yes, though the origin is more aboreal and mythological, likely accounting for its popularity as a product/project name:
