That hints to me that you are likely a "Jira ticket shop" and the engineers are handed code tasks on at a time. They aren't expected to be part of team figuring out the product problems and improvements.



I didn't get that impression at all. It sounded like OP was saying "Sure, communication counts. But I also have to believe you know how to code."


While I agree, the GP's attitude is also common in many of the "top" software companies, and explains a lot about why they fail to deliver on so much.
