Actually, there is such a scattered supply chain for semiconductor chips, that any war that disrupts international trade in a material way, would bring that entire industry to its knees. So many critical suppliers in the semiconductor supply chain are single companies, or single country oligopolies.

The 21st century will not be a remake of the 20th. Empires rise and fall, and that's in their nature to do so. So far, China has managed theirs very well, and I don't see a fall in the cards for this century.
