Boeing is a strategically important business, critical for maintaining the rules based international order. Short term losses are a small price to pay to ensure this company remains a dominant national champion


Boeing is being dysfunctional and uncompetitive lately. Why not let it succeed or fail on it's own accord? If it fails the government can auction the pieces to other companies that can actually deliver. This way the government gets to also make money rather than lose money on subsidizing a dysfunctional company.
