You won't get away from tuning of some sort so it's not like vector images are a panacea. Fonts require "hints" to scale. http://www.pushing-pixels.org/2011/11/04/about-those-vector-...



Precisely; hinted, procedural vector graphics are this panacea (see SVG's shape-rendering and media queries). There is significant initial cost to create a library of widgets and icons, but they are perfectly reusable and thus overtake a designer pixel-perfecting every screen to all target devices fast.


No designer worth his salt would object to a method such as that, as long as it produced good results.
